*RARE NRA SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1903 MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. SN 617334. Standard 03 with Springfield bbl dated “11-15”, standard front sight with clip on hood and Buffington ladder military rear sight. It is mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with grasping grooves and straight grip with checkered steel buttplate with trap and has the early style hand guard with groove. There is a rectangular “J.S.A.” cartouche on the left wrist. The front of the trigger guard has the very rare “N.R.A.” with flaming bomb stamp. Accompanied by an original Rock Island Arsenal 1915-dated military sling, marked in two places. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Metal retains about 95% strong bright original blue overall with light edge wear and some thinning on the receiver and floorplate. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of its bright original finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. Sling is dry with about 50% of the original surface finish flaked away. 4-52831 JR481 (1,500-2,500)
