HANDEL BLACK BIRD LAMP. Extremely fine Handel lamp has reverse painted colorful birds of paradise against a black background. The birds are shown in flight amongst a grouping of flowers, branches and leaves. The birds are beautifully painted in yellow, purple, orange and blue and the exterior of the shade is finished in a lovely chipped ice pattern. This shade is supported by a three socket base with two gargoyle heads supporting rings. The base is completed with a metal decorative openwork foot made to look like Teak. Shade is signed metal shade ring “Handel” as well as on the interior “Handel 7026R”. Base is signed on the edge of the foot “Handel. SIZE: Shade is 18″ dia. Overall 23” t.
