MANSFIELD & LAMB MODEL 1860 CAVALRY SABER. 35” dbl fuller blade marked “MANSFIELD / & LAMB / FORESTDALE R I” inside an oval on the left ricasso. “U.S. / J.C.W / 1864” is on the right ricasso. Iron scabbard with brazed seam on the bottom; the gold wire sword knot is attached to the rear of the guard. CONDITION: Brown patina with heavy surface rust and moderate pitting overall. Guard is bent and has a very dark patina. Wrap & wire from the grip are missing. Scabbard has moderate pitting overall. 4-54999-12 FS46 (250-400)
