WINCHESTER LEE NAVY RIFLE. Cal. 236 Lee Navy. SN 7393. Standard military rifle with 28” rnd bbl, square base front sight with attached hood and a military ladder rear sight. It is mounted in a 1-pc full-length walnut stock with two bands, the front being also a bayonet lug. The middle band has an integral sling loop with a corresponding base in the buttstock, missing the loop. It has a short hand guard. Accompanied by an original Winchester marked short knife bayonet with iron and leather scabbard. CONDITION: About very good. Metal retains an even blue-brown patina with bright blue in the very sheltered areas. Stock is missing a long sliver behind the receiver and the hand guard has a crack, otherwise is sound with numerous nicks, dings and scratches. Retains generous portions of its original finish. Mechanics are fine with strong frosty bore. Bayonet is near new and scabbard about 50%. 4-52740 JR480 (1,250-1,750)
