SCARCE FACTORY ENGRAVED BACON MFG. CO. EARLY 1860’S LIMITED QUANTITY POCKET REVOLVER WITH TIN TYPE. Cal. 32 RF. SN 70. Blued finish, 4-3/4” oct bbl with crisp markings, dovetail blade front sight, 2-pc smooth rosewood grips. Judging from scarcity of this model it would appear that production was cut short by action of Smith & Wesson due to infringement of their Rollin White patent. Accompanied by Union cased tintype of Union soldier holding similar revolver. CONDITION: Traces of orig blue remain with some enhancement. Faded casehardening on hammer. Bore is lightly pitted. Grips are refinished. Mechanically good. Tin type has a halo around the outside and a light crack on upper rear corner, but is generally fine. 4-59397 JH102 (700-1,000)
