D.A. HAMILTON (American, 19th/20th Century) “FOUR OF A KIND”. Oil on canvas interior scene shows four old men seated in ladder-back chairs, two with canes, three with white bears and various articles are on the floor including a Johnsons’ Liniment box and two hats. The corner of the room has a cupboard with various articles atop. Signed lower left “DA Hamilton 99”. Pencil inscribed on reverse of stretcher with title and artist name. Housed in what may be its original gilt gesso decorated frame. The artist is listed as having living in South Portland, Maine. SIZE: 13” x 23”. CONDITION: Relined, spot inpainting, very good. 9-28734 (400-600)
