UNUSUAL 15″, (38 CM) ARMAND MARSEILLES GOOGLIE. Kewpie-like Googlie with molded and painted features, with head incised “G.B. 252. GERMANY A.0.M. D.R.M.R.” with painted intaglio blue side-glancing eyes, white enameled eyes, with heavy black upper eye liner, one stroke eyebrows, watermelon-type smiling mouth with defined upper lip, tufts of hair above each ear, and pointed top knot in center of head. She is on a five-piece toddler body, and wears a period white cotton and lace baby dress with newer shoes and socks. CONDITION: Head is free of damage, body finish original, body likely an old replacement as it is disproportionately long. 1-7297 RS (1,000-1,500)
