ANTHONY THIEME (American, 1888-1954) “BACK BEACH, ROCKPORT, MA”. Outstanding large oil on canvas Rockport, Massachusetts scene shows a dirt road winding along the northern section of Rockport Harbor alongside Back Beach with two figures under a tree, rocky shoreline with the town on a peninsula beyond. A sailboat exits the harbor area on a blue ocean. Along the dirt road are houses with a solitary figure in red. Scene is framed with large trees and light blue sky. One of the finest paintings by this artist that we have ever handled. Housed in a fine carved gilt custom frame with a Guido Frame Studio label. Several labels are attached to reverse including an exhibit label from the Lynn Museum & Historical Society. The back has title and artist number “1508”. SIZE: 30” x 36”.
