ENGLISH SPODE “ACADIA” PATTERN COBALT-BLUE PART DINNER SERVICE. Circa 1950. Each piece gilt-decorated on a cobalt-blue and ivory ground. Comprising fourteen 10-1/2″ dinner plates, fourteen 7-3/4″ salad plates, fourteen 6-1/4″ butter plates, thirteen 4″ cups and thirteen 5-1/2″ saucers. The bottoms marked “Spode BONE CHINA ENGLAND”. Also marked with the registration number “R2939” and most marked with an additional incised mark under glaze. Total of 68 pieces. SIZE: As noted above. PROVENANCE: From a Bangor, ME, collection. Purported to be the same pattern ordered by Princess Margaret. CONDITION: In extremely good condition, a few pieces with minimal surface scratches, one salad plate with a small drip mark under glaze. 9-92360 (800-1,200)
