HANDEL METAL OVERLAY SCENIC LAMP. Shade begins with nine green slag panels of glass overlaid with a geometric brick pattern which is further complimented by nine scenic panels of glass. These panels are depicted with trees, houses and churches which are obverse painted against sunset colored glass. Over these nine scenic panels is an overlay of trees which gives a three-dimensional effect of viewing these scenes through the trees. The shade is supported by one of the most desirable Handel bases ever created. The base is commonly referred to as a swampy birch base, with its bulbous form and trees in relief. The base is completed with three sockets, three acorn pull chains, top cap and finial. This lamp has a rich green brown patina finish overall. Shade is signed “Handel” on aperture rim. Base is unmarked. SIZE: Shade is 20″ dia. Overall 22″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-68992 (6,000-8,000)
