*INSCRIBED SMITH & WESSON K-22 MASTERPIECE DA TARGET REVOLVER. Cal. 22LR, SN K13278. Blued finish, 6” bbl, adjustable sights, early hammer with trigger and nicely figured diamond checkered silver medallion magna grips. The sideplate is nicely engraved “EDWIN PUGSLEY”. Mr. Pugsley is an extremely well known figure from the Winchester Repeating Arms Co from the 1920’s into the 1950’s. Accompanied by a S & W letter identifying this as a persentation revolver engrave with Mr. Pugsley’s name and indicating shipment on Dec. 9, 1947 to Mr. Edwin Pugsley, Winchester Arms Co, New Haven, CT. The revolver was a gift from Mr. C. R. Hellstrom, President of Smith & Wesson. “Mr. Pugsley was Wincheste r executive, who was in charge of the Manufacturing Engineering Dept”. CONDITION: Extremely fine. All matching including grips. Retains 96-97% strong bright blue. Sideplate has been refinished. Grips are exceptionally fine. Trigger and hammer retain most of their slightly faded case colors. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore. 4-51859 JR486 (750-1,250)
