TWO MEISSEN CUPS AND SAUCERS TOGETHER WITH A CANDLESTICK VASE. Third quarter 19th century through first quarter 20th century. German. Each 6 footed cup applied with polychrome flowers with entwined handles simulating branches. Interior decorated with floral sprays and insects. Saucers similarly decorated. Vase applied overall with fruit and floral vinery and decorated with opposing polychrome painted floral sprays. Vase with everted rim with gilt scalloped edges. Small saucer with Incised “3”. Impressed mark “40”. Crossed swords in underglaze blue. Large saucer with Incised “2”. Crossed swords in underglaze blue. Vase with Incised “L 18”. Impressed mark “92+60”. Crossed swords in underglaze blue. SIZE: Cups: 2-1/4″ and 3-1/4″ dia. respectively. Saucers: 4-1/8″ and 5-3/4″ dia. respectively. Vase: 7-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine New Jersey home. CONDITION: Cups and saucers each with losses to petals and leaf tips. Otherwise good. Vase with repair to edge of top rim with losses to end of each major leaf tip at sides. Note, one leaf tip still present. Otherwise with small losses to flower petals. 9-24539 (400-600)
