EXTREMELY RARE FULL SEALED BOX OF FRANKFORD ARSENAL 20 GA. BRASS SHOT SHELLS. This fine box measures 3-5/8″ long x 2-3/4″ deep x 1-1/2″ high. It is a 2-pc box with paper seal and stapled corners. The buff colored seal wraps completely around the box and is imprinted with a black label which states “10 / SHOT-GUN SHELLS, ‘ Primed, No. 20.” and goes on to give reloading instructions with the bottom line stating “Manufactured at Frankford Arsenal”. These cartridges were manufactured for use with the scarce Springfield trapdoor forager. Those rare shotguns were issued two to a company for use by government hunters & scouts at western outposts. The last known issue was in 1906 in Alaska. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Fully sealed and completely intact with one tiny puncture on the top, otherwise it has light soil with some foxing on one edge.
