FINE LIFE-SIZE MARBLE STATUE OF A ROBED FEMALE. Late 19th century. The figure depicted in a bonnet and with hair flowing over her shoulder, with flowing robes tied at waist, right hand at breast, left hand holding staff, posed barefoot on a plinth, the whole mounted on a conforming pedestal. SIZE: Statue: 54-1/2″ h. x 17-1/2″ w. x 13″ d. Pedestal: 17″ h. x 18″ w. x 12-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine home in Belfast, Maine. CONDITION: Statue retains old polished surfaces with very good patina. Minor repair noted in fold of robe behind proper left shoulder, small chip polished out of back of robe. No other defects noted. Pedestal with roughness to most edges. 9-92973 (3,000-5,000)
