CARVED PLAQUE OF ST. SEBASTIAN. Late 19th century. Believed to be mold executed in 19th century and copy of earlier Italian carving depicting the Saint tied to tree on hillside clothed solely in loincloth. Tableau within molded frame, this may have been a souvenir of “The Grand Tour Era”. Back with penciled inscriptions identifying subject, additional lines of inscription illegible. SIZE: 11″ h x 6-1/4″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine Islesboro, Maine home. CONDITION: Overall good with undisturbed surfaces. 9-23858 (300-500)
