FANCIFUL AUSTRIAN CARVED TOWEL RAIL, CIRCA 1896. Signed “Storm” in script on reverse and dated 1896, the carved walnut towel rail depicting two opposing fanciful serpents or birds grasping a turned rod, their tails intertwined, all heavily and finely carved. SIZE: 10-1/2″ h. x 35″ overall l. x 7-3/4″ d. CONDITION: In fine original condition with detailed carving intact but with small old repairs to scrolled mane. Nice old patina. 5-67250 (800-1,200)
