FINE FOLK ART GAME COCK WEATHERVANE. Late 19th century, New England. This nice example in molded sheet iron of a three dimensional game cock with applied wings and molded comb mounted on an original balustrade finial in old, crusty red paint. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h overall x 21-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: From a private Waterville, Maine collection. CONDITION: Painted surfaces as noted. Game cock with light rusting on painted surfaces. The carved wood finial with appropriate weathering and with remnants of original paint. Base of finial with old loss to one side. Otherwise good. 9-29598 (700-900)
