GEORGE HARLOW WHITE (Canadian/British,1817-1988) STILTED FISHING SHACKS. Detailed small watercolor shows seven shacks on wood stilts. A figure is at base of stairway filling bucket of water by small stream. Signed lower right, “G. HARLOW WHITE, 1876”. It is known that White traveled extensively through the Quebec area of Canada, sketching these small watercolors. Inscription on reverse in modern hand, indicates this may be fisherman’s cottages on the Hudson River, New York City. Housed in a modern gilt wood frame with white mat.
