TWO PAIR SHERATON FANCY CHAIRS. Circa 1825. The first, a pair of gilt-decorated, stenciled, and faux-grained Hitchcock side chairs with black ground. The second, a pair of Arrow back Windsor side chairs with simulated bamboo turnings and balloon rush seats. Gilt-decorated and stenciled with grapevines on a cream ground. SIZE: First: 35″ h. of back. Second: 32-1/2″ h. of back. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: Very good structurally with later paint. 9-93659 (300-500)
