OUTSTANDING 24-DELFT TILE PAINTING AFTER CORNELIUS SPRINGER. Tiles mounted in a metal frame with solid backing. Arranged four tiles high by six tiles wide. Signed lower left with a Dutch Delft mark, signed lower right with a conjoined “JS” and “Naar C. Springer”. The brown and white scene showing a busy canal scene through a cities interior. Boats crowd the canal while pedestrians and horse and wagon move along the streets. Large buildings line the sidewalks centered on a large cathedral. SIZE: 25″ x 37-3/4″. PROVENANCE: From a Belfast, Maine home. CONDITION: Tiles are in very good condition with only light chipping at top and right edges. Tiles have a nice aged craquelure.
