GROUP OF FIVE ARROW BACK WINDSOR CHAIRS. Circa 1840. The four side chairs, each with arched crest rail, joined to backswept stiles centering four turned spindles on shaped plank seat, the canted legs with simulated bamboo. The armchair with two horizontal slats over four Arrow spindles, the conical arms on simulated bamboo supports, joined to the shaped plank seat, raised on canted, simulated bamboo legs. SIZE: Tallest: 34-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine home in Bucksport, Maine. CONDITION: Chairs originally painted, now stripped and refinished, with restoration and strengthening. 9-93170 (400-600)
