GROUP OF SIX NIPPON MORIAGE EWERS. Late 19th through mid 20th century. Japan. First is 6.75″ tall with stalks of wheat and lavender violets on blue-green ground. Second is 7.5″ tall decorated overall with pink and cranberry blooms on striated and marbleized blue, green and pink ground, upturned angular spout supported by triangular lobed leaf. Third is 7.5″ ewer is similar in design to previous example with gilt ground and additional caramel blooms. Two similar 6″ suppressed globular ewers, first with opposing reserves paint decorated with roses, second with opposing spade cartouches each painted with polychrome floral spray. 7.5″ tall ewer painted and enamel decorated, each with opposing cartouches polychrome painted with floral spray. SIZE: See above. PROVENANCE: From a private Waterville, Maine home. CONDITION: Overall very good with minimal wear and nominal losses to Moriage. 9-24924 (600-900)
