RARE EARLY AMERICAN MAPLE WEAVER’S CHAIR AND CHILD’S LADDERBACK ARMCHAIR. Mid-19th century. Each example with two peaked slats joined to cylindrical ring-turned stiles with capped spool finials, the dowel arms joined to similarly turned frontal stiles centering a trapezoidal splint seat, the legs joined by dowel box stretchers. SIZE: 38″ h. of weaver’s chair. 26″ h. of child’s armchair. PROVENANCE: From a fine home in Bucksport, Maine. CONDITION: Very good overall, refinished, showing traces of old red paint.
