PAIR OF LOUIS XV STYLE ORMOLU AND CUT GLASS WALL SCONCES. Late 19th, early 20th century. Wired for electricity, each wall light with scalloped ormolu back plate supporting two tiers of candle arms, the uppermost with two lights, the second tier with three lights. Each arm with molded glass drip pan above a gilt metal drip pan hung with and connected by chains of faceted drops suspended from floral rosettes. The pattern repeated throughout each sconce. Each headed by a cut glass spearhead finial. SIZE: Approx overall: 34″ h x 18″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine and New York private collection. CONDITION: Brass surfaces original and untouched, prisms and chains for the most part intact, some of the smaller tear drop pendants are absent. Generally very good. 9-29911 (1,500-2,000)
