Depicting two putti in the act of sharpening arrows and cutlery on a grinding wheel beneath a tree on a rockwork plinth. Incised mark “E 26”. Impressed “28”. Painted in black “41”. With crossed swords in underglaze blue. SIZE: 7-3/4″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine New Jersey home. CONDITION: With extensive losses to foliage and branches, one putto with loss of object in right hand and loss of big toe. Small losses to bucket and loss of connection to grinding wheel from foot pedal. In addition, multiple small chips throughout. 9-24525 (700-1,000)
