3 FT BY 3FT, 20th C. SQUARE ARTILLERY SIZE “CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG”. 36” hoist by 38” fly. Printed copy of the artillery size, 1862 style, Army of Northern Virginia battle flag. Standard square design with narrow, white edging to the St. Andrew’s cross bearing thirteen white, 5-pointed stars and white border on all four sides of the red field. White cotton heading with brass grommet at each end bears the marking “SHERRITT FLAG CO./RICHMOND, VA” and “38”x38” ARTILLERY”. Staff bears eagle for finial with appended yellow silk cords and tassels and six “battle streamers” from Civil War re-enactments in 1988-1990. CONDITION: Very good. Few stains on the field caused by furling the flag on its pole. 4-56313 HMM (100-200)
