MEISSEN FIGURAL GROUP OF TWO PUTTI. Mid 19th-first quarter 20th century, German. Depicting two semi-nude putti, one with stack of textiles, second with right leg on tied bundle and length of rope in his hands. Barrel and wagon wheel behind. All on scrolling plinth. Incised “2903” and impressed “101”. Also marked in red paint “45”. With crossed swords in underglaze blue. SIZE: 5″ h x 4-5/8″ l. PROVENANCE: From a fine New Jersey home. CONDITION: One putto with repair to left wing tip, loss to corner of fabric and loss to left hand. Other putto with lost section of rope connecting right hand to top of bundle. Shallow shell chip on bottom rim of plinth. Otherwise good. 9-24528 (800-1,200)
