SHERATON CARVED MAHOGANY ARMCHAIR. Second quarter 19th century. The rectangular padded back joined to deep padded sides centering trapezoidal overupholstered seat, the small handgrips on swelled, reeded supports, continuing to cylindrical, reeded, ring-turned legs with bulbous cuffs, the rear legs backswept, raised on brass casters. SIZE: 37-1/2″ h. of back x 25-1/2″ overall w x 16″ h. of seat. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: The frame retains original dark finish and casters, with good dark patina. The whole covered in a classical aqua silk fabric of later date. Very good overall. 9-93657 (300-500)
