REGENCY MAHOGANY SOFA TABLE. First quarter 19th century, England. The rectangular top with hinged D-form leaves above the rectangular frieze fitted with two aligned drawers opposing two shallow drawers raised on trestle base with rectangular support raised on outswept legs terminating in brass capped casters. SIZE: 27-1/2″ h x 26″ d x 37″ l (closed), 62″ l (open). PROVENANCE: By descent through the Walter Rothschild family of New York. CONDITION: Hinges at leaves need restoration. Legs at supports need professional restoration. Table retains old polished surfaces. Small replaced board on top. 9-27914 (300-500)
