THREE SHERATON AND FEDERAL EGLOMISE MIRRORS. First half 19th century. The first, a federal giltwood mirror, the molded crest with spherules above a pale blue eglomise panel depicting a gold gilt displayed eagle with banner, above the rectangular plate flanked by ropetwist elements. The second, a Sheraton example with engaged, ebonized half-colonnettes with gilt capitals, bases, and mid-moldings, the corners with floral rosettes centering an eglomise panel depicting a woman with infant playing a piano above a rectangular plate. The third, a similar Sheraton example with ebonized and giltwood frame and floral rosettes, the eglomise frame depicting a rural landscape. SIZE: First: 31″ x 18-1/2″. Second: 37″ x 17″. Third: 34″ x 15-1/2″. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill, MA and Thomaston, ME Estate. CONDITION: All in very good condition, the second is re-gilt. Mirrorplates original with mirror foxing.
