MID 19TH CENTURY SLANTED WRITING DESK. This small lap desk with compartment is the type of thing a Civil War soldier might carry. The slant lid for writing on and the interior compartment for storage. Inside is miscellaneous including antique pipe, braid, leather pieces & a copy of the New Testament dated 1850. Some script on top of box but unreadable. Size, 11” wide, 8” deep and 5” high. CONDITION: Chip of wood missing on front. Wood has very dark patina. 4-56213-132 (200-300)
