BANNISTER BACK SIDE CHAIR. Second half 18th century, possibly Connecticut. The double arched stepped crestrail above three split bannister splats joined to baluster-turned styles with turned finials above the trapezoidal woven seat on baluster-and-sausage-turned frontal legs joined by a box stretcher, the rear legs cylindrical. SIZE: 40-3/4″ back h. 16-1/2″ seat h. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Professionally repolished and restored with repairs to proper left of stretchers. 9-29872 (250-350)
