ATTRIBUTED TO NARCISSE-VIRGIL DIAZ DE LA PENA (French, 1807 – 1876) WOMAN IN THE WOODS. Oil on panel scene shows a woman in a sunlit clearing surrounded by thick forest, deep blue sky and sandy path with rocks. Signed lower left “N. Diaz 1875″. Housed in a fabulous gesso decorated leaf motif gilt frame with gilt liner. SIZE: 12-1/2″ x 9-1/4”. PROVENANCE: Ex-collection of Hans Fehr (Germany) to a Winthrop, Maine home to our consignor.
