TWO SOUVENIRS FROM THE BATTLE OF CHANCELLORSVILLE. This lot contains two “bullets in wood” cut from trees on the Chancellorsville battlefield around the turn of the century. Wood pieces are about 10” x 2” each. Both pieces of wood show excellent age patina. One piece clearly shows a 58 cal. three ring mini ball and has an old string tag printed with “BATTLE OF CHANCELLORSVILLE”. Also printed is “Last Words of Thomas J. Jackson”, which reads “Let us pass over the river and rest under the shade of the trees.” The other piece has a branded mark that reads “BATTLE OF CHANCELLORSVILLE, MAY 2, 1863”. 4-56213-5 JS152 (200-500)
