NEW ENGLAND BRACE-BACK, BOWBACK WINDSOR SIDE CHAIR. Late 18th early 19th century. Probably Rhode Island. The bowed crest rail continuing to stiles centering nine spindles joined to a shaped plank seat, over-upholstered with leather, raised on baluster and ring-turned splayed legs joined by a conforming H-form stretcher. SIZE: 37-1/4″h. of back x 16-1/4″H. of seat CONDITION: The crest rail with old repairs. The chair with older cleaned surfaces. Otherwise structurally good. 9-20089 (400-600)
