PAIR OF MINIATURE CARVED BUSTS AND A WHALEBONE FORK. Mid 19th century, New England. Whimsically expressive portrait busts depicting two white capped sailors. Both carved with expressive facial features. Each mounted on a plinth. Together with a fine well carved and detailed whalebone pickle or condiment fork; three “whimsey” balls entrapped within the handle. SIZE: Carvings: 3-1/2″ each. Fork: 6″ l. CONDITION: The carvings untouched with worn paint, very good. The fork very good with fine mellow patina. 9-29165 (700-900)
