FINE REGENCY INLAID ROSEWOOD DESK CADDY. Circa 1810. The rectangular case with reeded quarter molding, brass string inlays with frieze drawer, the top with three glass inkwells fitted in compartments, flanked by concave pen trays, and mounted with scrolled cast-brass carrying handle. SIZE: 8″ overall h. x 15″ l. x 11-3/4″ w. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Retains original finish and patina. Some stringing absent. Glass ink bottles old but not original. Needs cosmetic restoration and cleaning. Accompanied by a silver metal Middle Eastern letter opener. 9-93322 (300-500)
