BAROQUE STYLE PAINT DECORATED DISPLAY CABINET.

BAROQUE STYLE PAINT DECORATED DISPLAY CABINET. 19th century or later, probably Holland. This benchmade example in two parts, the upper case with arched cove molded cornice centering a tablet, the sides canted above a central arched astragal glazed door flanked by canted astragal glazed side panels on a cove molded plinth, above the conforming lower case fitted with a pair of covered doors, flanked by canted sides with molded panels on a cove molded plinth raised on ball feet. The whole with polychrome floral vinery on a terracotta ground. The top cabinet also designed for mounting on a wall, independent of the base. SIZE: 73-1/2″ h x 38-1/4″ w x 11-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine coastal Westerly, RI estate. CONDITION: All painted surfaces original, with losses to paint along front molded surface of lower case, two glass panels to upper door with cracks. Otherwise very good. 9-28354 (800-1,200)
