F. SALA (German, 19th Century) “WHALE FISHERS IN FLOATING ICE (NORTH CAPE)”. Colored lithograph shows a two-mast whaling boat resting against iceberg while seven men break ice to free the ship. Bottom having a German & English legend. Housed in a birdseye maple frame having reverse painted black glass matte. SIZE: Sight: 12″ x 15″. PROVENANCE: From a fine New Jersey home. CONDITION: Not examined out of frame, appears to be laid down with toning. Fair to good. 9-24608 (200-400)
