Correction: Catalog states 1st half 20th Century, it should say 20th Century. GUINNESS BREWERY ADVERTISING SIGN. First half 20th century. The large hand-painted sign depicting two gentlemen, each with a pint of Guinness in a hot air balloon above the English channel. To the left the Eiffel tower, to the left the Cliffs of Dover and Big Ben. In the foreground is a side paddlewheel steamer flying a burgee identifying it as the Dover-Calais ferry. Signed lower right “R. Maguire”, lower fright. Mounted in a gilt frame. This painted sign marking 150th anniversary of the brewery. SIZE: Sight: 48″ x 36-1/2″. Overall: 53″ x 42″. CONDITION: Generally very good. Minor surface scratches. 9-28129 (2,000-3,000)
