EDWARD SHEPARD HEWITT (American, 1877-1962) EAST RIVER, NEW YORK CITY. Oil on canvas morning scene shows a tugboat docked with the New York skyline in background. All under a colorful pink, white and blue sky. Unsigned but having a letter from David F. Lomasney who is the grandson of the artist and indicates that the painting was descended to him from Ellen Fales Hewitt, his mother. Housed in a fine carved wood and gilt modern frame with linen liner. SIZE: 20″ x 16″. CONDITION: Relined, very good. 9-97337 (2,000-3,000)
