MASSACHUSETTS SHERATON MAHOGANY DRESSING TABLE, PROBABLY NORTH SHORE. Circa 1825. The rectangular mirrorplate within a conforming molded frame suspended on S-scrolled acanthus- and pineapple-carved supports, joined to the rectangular top having half-round molded edges above the conforming case, fitted with a row of three drawers over a single long drawer, with stamped and cast-brass hardware, raised on swelled spiral twist ring-turned legs, joined by a shaped medial shelf, and terminating in bulbous tapered ring-turned feet. SIZE: 55″ h. x 35″ overall w. x 18-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Coastal Maine estate. CONDITION: Very nice original condition. With dark brown figured graining and color and good patina. One thumbscrew for mirror absent. Left facing mirror support repaired. Otherwise very good. 9-94658 (2,000-3,000)
