THREE SCRIMSHAW ROUND BOXES. Mid-20th century, New England. The smallest titled “Shanon 1859” scrimmed with a whaling ship on the lid. The second titled “IN MEMORIAM CAPTAIN/LOUIS.JERNEGAN/1855” scrimmed on the domed lid, the sides scrimmed with a scene of whalers harpooning a sperm whale. The third a round box, the lid scrimmed with a compass rose within a border of US and Confederate flags, titled “CAPTAIN/HENRY DAGGETT”. SIZE: Smallest: 2″ dia. Largest: 4″ dia.
