PAIR OF CONTINENTAL CARVED GILT-WOOD DOUBLE EAGLE WALL PLAQUES. Mid 19th century. Possibly Prussian. Each carved depicting a displayed two headed eagle surmounted by a crown perched on a scrolling cartouche. These carvings may be a fragment of a larger plaque. SIZE: 18-1/2″ x 9-3/4″ CONDITION: Structurally intact with minor shrinkage cracks, one plaque with old repairs. Originally gilded surfaces with moderate losses. 9-20374 (800-1,200)
