LARGE EARLY AMERICAN TIN CAMEL TOY ON PLATFORM. This toy made by Althoff Bergman dates to approximately 1880. The camel in original yellow paint with red mouth is mounted on a green base with small cast iron wheels. SIZE: 9″ l x 7-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Scattered paint flaking missing all over the surface of the camel and base. A piece of the tin on one side of the leg also missing. This is a scarce toy; and for this early a toy, in very acceptable condition. 1-7680 (500-800)
