TWO SALTGLAZE VERMONT CROCKS. New England, 2nd half, 19th century. The first a three gallon jug with a floral spray in under-glaze blue marked “E NORTON & CO/BENNINGTON VT/3”. The second, a 1-1/2 gallon crock with scrolling foliate design in under-glaze blue applied with c-scroll handles. Marked “FENTON & HANCOCK/ST JOHNSBURY, VT/1-1/2”. SIZE: 1) 15-1/4″h.; 2) 10″h. CONDITION: Both structurally very good. The first with some discoloration to ground and with normal abrasions to blue decoration. The second with spot losses to glaze in ground. Lid absent. 9-23828 (300-500)
