5TH NEW JERSEY NATIONAL GUARD UNIFORM. Late 19th century pants and coat, showing the distinctive 5th Regiment New Jersey National Guard buttons. Coat is triple-breasted with black tape and gold bullion decorations. A pair of Civil War era epaulets are attached to shoulders. Accompanying pants are also cadet gray wool but are different cloth than the coat. CONDITION: Pants are excellent and show little wear or use. Coat is fine overall, showing some fraying and soiling to high points of black tape. Bullion decoration on cuffs is worn and stained. Several buttons are dented, two buttons missing. 4-56240 JS257 (200-400)
