REMINGTON NEW MODEL NAVY CONVERSION REVOLVER. Cal. 38 CF. SN 27530. Conversion #309. Blued finish, 7-3/8” oct bbl, pinched front sight, 2-pc smooth walnut grips. Nice example of Remington/Navy contract of 1875 to convert 36 cal Remington percussion revolvers in Navy inventory to 38 center fire. Gun orig built in early 1864. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Retains about 60% of blue on bbl & cyl, with strong traces on frame & loading lever. Some casehardening colors remain on the hammer which also shows signs of repair. Entirely refinished at time of conversion, removing part of bbl marking. Grips have been refinished. Bore is very good. Action is fine. 4-59391 JH88 (1,500-2,000)
