GALLE MARQUETRY VASE. Outstanding Galle marquetry and wheelcarved vase has gray and burnt orange marquetry leaves and background inlaid into a yellow amber glass. Leaves and flowers are wheelcarved and give way to a wheelcarved corn design in the background. Vase is signed with a wonderful wheelcarved signature “Galle 1900”. All rest upon a wonderful swirled and ruffled applied foot. Vase was probably done for the 1900 Paris Exhibition. SIZE: 10-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-71585 (40,000-50,000)
