VERMONT GRAIN-PAINTED TWO-DRAWER BLANKET CHEST. Early 19th century. The rectangular lid with applied molding on pin hinges fitted to the conforming case of two long thumbmolded drawers, the case sides with shaped bootjack ends, the whole with simulated ‘terra cotta’ graining. SIZE: 43-3/4″ h. x 36″ case w. x 18-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From the Brownsville Community Church, Brownsville, Vermont, circa 1832. CONDITION: Overall very good original condition, with acceptable wear and marring to painted surfaces and minor losses to drawer edges. 9-93740 (2,000-3,000)
